White pepper, like black pepper, is made from the berries of the pepper plant (Piper nigrum). Unlike black pepper, white pepper comes from fully ripe berries that are fermented in water to remove the outer layer, leaving only the inner seed. White pepper has a sharper, spicier taste and a relatively mild aroma, making it more aromatic than black pepper. It is ideal for adding flavor to chicken dishes, fish dishes, sauces, salads, and potato dishes. However, it is not suitable for sweet dishes.
